This is how my story goes…

Born overseas. Lived on three continents. Finally back in the States as a teenager looking for a summer gig. Decided to mow lawns. But how to get customers? So I cobbled together a flier and dropped them off throughout the neighborhood. Was shocked when people, having read my flier, picked up the phone, and wanted my business. “That,” my older brother said with a smile, “is marketing.”

I was hooked.

I got a BA (with honors) at Case Western Reserve University majoring in economics. Then an MBA at the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business—concentrating in Marketing.

Since then, I’ve spent twenty years developing customer-centric marketing in the CPG, telecommunications, nonprofit, and advertising worlds. But no matter which organization, the goal has always been the same: utilizing my marketing skillset and resources to drive results.

When I’m not doing that, I’m looking for new ways to master my craft. Whether reading the next Donald Miller book, listening to a Marketing Over Coffee podcast, reading a Marketing Brew blog, or watching a Seth Godin TED Talk with fellow marketers, I know I can always learn more.

Finally, when I’m not working, I’m hitting the trails with my mountain bike. Like marketing, it’s about risks and rewards, pushing your limits, and discovering where the road will take you.
